Secret contracts (the public are not permitted to read them) with major vaccine distributors in Australia have secured legal indemnity for any harms caused. Specifically CSL and AstraZeneca (and we assume Pfizer) have will have the backing of the Australian Federal Government who will pay any compensation. This news comes from a leading vaccine researcher and creator, Professor Nikolai Petrovsky who owns Vaxine - a company that invented the COVAX-19 vaccine (and has no legal indemnity). The professor raises an interesting and perverse incentive - those companies with indemnities have far less motivation to minimise toxicity because they will not be liable.
